Solid Rock Ranch
was named after the verse
Matthew 7:24.
We raise
miniature horses, sheep and wonderful farm collies. Our dogs are all
out of registered Border Collies, and we have worked for 10 years to
produce a Border Collie that is calm, loving, smart, yet eager to work
and help around the farm.
We have
held on to several of the good lines of Kentucky bred working Border
Collies, Jesse Kennedy, Adriel Hedges, Alan Miller, Clarence Meredith,
Larry White & Ted House. They are good, calm, friendly dogs with a
strong natural instinct to work & please. These are wonderful all-around
farm dogs that just love to be with people.
Our
General Lee is 10 years old, and he is the smartest dog ever born, we
think. He is sweet & kind, funny, loves to play, and an excellent
babysitter for baby lambs or goats, chicks or rabbits. He loves all
animals as his own. Jesse Kennedy owned General's dam & sire. 10 years
ago, Jesse's 35 acre farm down the road was filled with Quarter Horses,
ponies, sheep, goats, pigs, every kind of chicken, ducks, geese,
rabbits, and his great dogs. When he retired from ranching, we brought
home some of his miniature horses, sheep and a couple dogs out of his
lines.
We have
kept some of General’s sons and daughters, and grandkids as well so we
have pups that are General’s great grandkids now.
